The Clear Spring

The Clear Spring radiates with a vibrant, high-energy glow.  As the brightest of the Spring sub-seasons, Clear Springs thrive in bold, mostly warm hues that reflect their striking contrast and clarity. Their palette is lively and full of the brightest, most saturated colors of Spring.

Here are the basics of the Clear Spring season

Temperature: Warm, primarily
Value: Light
Chroma: Clear
Sister Season: Clear Winter

Best Colors: Clear Red, Hot Turquoise, Lime Green, Hot Coral, Bright Yellow.

Avoid: Dusty pastels like mauve, grey-blue, dusty lavender, antique rose, and any pale, muted colors regardless of its temperature.

The Clear Spring is a blend of both Spring and Winter. High contrast and full saturation of color are what they both clear seasons share. Many Clear Springs started as blondes naturally and continue to keep their blonde hair. Other's let it go dark and can often be mistaken for Winters.

It's important for Clear Springs to keep colors bright and clear and avoid dark, dusty, pale colors. Wearing dusty colors can make you look dull and suck all of the vitality from your face.

The Clear Spring is the only Spring that could pull off the color Black. But a better choice is to 'warm it up' by choosing black-brown instead of pure Black.

Hallmarks of the Clear Spring

Clear Springs are defined by their vibrant clear coloring and their need for high-contrast and bright colors.

  • Eyes: Typically bright and clear, often blue, green, or golden brown. The whites of the eyes tend to be crisp and well-defined, enhancing contrast. Their eyes are usually the most striking feature.
  • Skin: Usually warm or neutral, sometimes with a luminous, fresh appearance.
  • Hair: Blonde hair is most common, at least naturally. It can be golden or neutral with golden highlights. Over time, hair can darken.
  • Overall Look: High wattage with features that thrive in saturated, warm, high-contrast colors.

Building a Wardrobe for the Clear Spring

A wardrobe built around Clear Spring colors ensures an effortlessly polished and harmonious look every day.  Every piece should work together to maintain vibrancy and contrast, saving you time and money.

Core Neutrals

Warm beige, light beige, golden brown, and light navy, serve as excellent foundation colors for your core wardrobe.

Power Colors

Make the bulk of your wardrobe fresh, high-energy  shades like bright coral, orange, bright green, aqua, or sunshine yellow around which you add to your core pieces.

Wardrobe Tips

  • Replace black with dark brown or deep teal for a warmer alternative. Always pair deep colors with your favorite brighter colors.
  • Swap stark white for cream or soft ivory to better align with your warm undertones.
  • Focus on structured yet vibrant pieces like blazers, dresses, and fitted coats in your best neutrals for your core pieces. Everything else in your closet will  work together beautifully.

Accessories for the Clear Spring

Choosing the right accessories can enhance your natural brightness and add polish to your look.

Metal/Jewelry: Gold and rose gold are ideal, but silver will be acceptable as well.

Gemstones: Sparkling gems like citrine, yellow diamonds, emerald, and bright coral will harmonize with your vibrant coloring.

Eyewear: In addition to the metal suggestions above, choose non-metal frames in your favorite palette colors like peach, sand, aqua, and teal. Avoid muted or overly dark frames that might dull your look.

Accessories close to your face like scarves and hats should always be in your absolute best power colors for maximum harmony.
